Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department’s Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: “It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

“These kinds of products being offered, normally online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their safety.

“You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health.”
