The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.
